Job Summary: The Construction Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on a construction site, ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. This role involves managing subcontractors, coordinating with vendors, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining communication between the project team and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Manage and supervise all on-site activities, including construction, safety, and coordination of subcontractors and vendors.
- Team Leadership: Lead and direct a team of construction workers, subcontractors, and laborers. Ensure tasks are performed efficiently, on time, and in accordance with the project specifications.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Develop, monitor, and adjust the construction schedule. Coordinate and prioritize work activities to avoid delays and keep the project moving forward smoothly.
- Quality Control: Ensure that work is completed according to project plans, specifications, and industry standards. Conduct regular inspections to maintain quality control and resolve issues when necessary.
- Safety Management: Enforce safety regulations on-site and ensure all workers follow safety protocols. Conduct safety meetings and ensure that safety equipment is used at all times. Investigate any safety incidents or accidents.
- Material and Equipment Management: Coordinate the delivery and use of materials and equipment. Ensure that the right materials are on-site at the right time, and that equipment is in good working condition.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact between the project manager, clients, and contractors. Provide regular updates on progress, milestones, and any potential issues.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any on-site issues, including delays, disputes, or unforeseen challenges. Ensure timely solutions to keep the project on track.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of construction activities, daily logs, site progress reports, and any changes or modifications to plans. Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Budget Management: Work with the project manager to monitor project costs, prevent cost overruns, and manage any budget adjustments as necessary.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the project complies with all local, state, and federal building codes, regulations, and laws. Secure necessary permits and licenses.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Experience in construction management or as a superintendent, with proven experience leading projects from start to finish.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, management, and team-building skills to effectively supervise workers and subcontractors.
- Project Management Knowledge: Familiarity with construction processes, timelines, and budgeting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to make quick decisions and resolve on-site challenges efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot potential issues or deviations from plans and address them proactively.
- Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software, scheduling tools, and basic office software (e.g., MS Office

Working Conditions:
- Primarily on-site work in outdoor settings, with exposure to various weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, walk, stand, and climb for extended periods.
